Acutally I did almost have water in the house. If you remeber the "perfect storm". Lacked 1/2 inch all the way around the house from coming in the doors. These pics were taken before the total high tide. So there was more water. Amazing how much effect this tropical storm is having on everything. Most of this was due to winds. Which have picked up tonight 30 to 50. And now we are getting rain. Nothing like what has happened to the south. I just hope that all down that way are as safe as they can be.
As for you Luna... this could be your view, but you would have to leave Homestead. Oh wait that will never happen. It took all I had to get you to meet me for dinner in Miami. Oh wait we were only 10 miles form Homestead. Nevermind!!!

They should rename this one Hurrican Florida. It seems to want all the coast line. One wobbly cane for sure. Watch the jet stream, it may head out into the gulf and get even worse.

Hey bnz and LB, All I can say is wow! I wish I had taken Fay a lot more seriously! Even though the winds did not get over about 45-50 mph, it has rained heavily almost continuously with lots of flooding locally. The storm was also very slow moving so we had about the twice the amount of rain on the ground as with a typical hurricane. I was out in the middle of the heaviest rain digging out, or making new, drainage ditches along our dirt road and driveway and near the house, to prevent water backing up into the house. Still got about 3/4 inch in the garage, and about 6-8 inches over the ground around the house, but none got inside fortunately. We also lost power for 2 days, but everything seems to be back by about 1800 this evening. I head for the coast tomorrow morning to see how much of a storm tide we had, and to check on erosion along the coast and in our launch areas. Tragically, a young boy we know drowned up in Bainbridge, but we don't know the details as yet. Didn't get many pics, but our area looked a lot like yours and your video above. Take care. Dick

Glad to hear you're OK. I helped my son return to Tally on Thursday and hit heavy rain and wind from Live Oak back to Orlando throughout the evening. Talked to kid today and everything in town was well except for his internet service; thankfully, although I didn't think so when we were making trips up the stairs, he is on the third floor of his apartment complex. Looks like Orlando area will be free of squall bands now and things will be calm until the next one comes along.

We got it too CPP. First band came through here about 3:30 and several more followed. Sure looks nice out there this morning but I'm pooped from staying up all night to watch basketball gold medal game.

Hey Guys, Still a lot of standing water in Tallahassee, and some flooding. All our home rain gauges only record up to 6 inches, so it is hard to know how much rain fell at home, but you can compare the pics below for an idea. We probably had at least 20 inches of rain in 24 hours where we are north of town. I just took a few pics of our pond this morning where most of the runoff from around the house goes. Compare with the “Before Fay” pond pic below. Both pics were taken from the same spot. You will note that the large overhanging branch in the center of the “before” shot is now lying in the pond.
