I'm just back from an amazing trip up to Alaska. Although I've posted about it a few other places, some of these photos are so unusual I wanted to share them here. Please excuse me if you've seen them elsewhere.

Sweet, sweet, sweet AK trip with Chris Mautino of Liquid Adventures, one of the 4 salmon sharketeers. We hit up Resurrection Bay for the silvery goodness (1st kayak salmon!), then moved on to Kenai Fjords Natl Park to chill out. That's Pedersen Glacier. This is one caper that most likely had never been done - why take a fish yak into the ice? You know the answer... 'Cause we can!

Look for future coverage in Canoe and Kayak magazine. And if you'd dig a similar trip next year, shoot Chris an email. He's on the web. Dude loves any excuse to mix it up with the fish.

Nice job.... I see Chris was taking some of his awesome pictures...

Nice Ling too...

I was up there a couple of weeks earlier, the Coho weren't in yet, but the Chum were in full Calico.

Alaska gets into your blood...

What a life Chris leads! Great guy, very talented, a true Jack of all trades. And yes, Alaska beckons. It won't be my last trip...

Nice Job Bro.
That looks like PWS. I comercial fished on a purse seiner out of Valdez for several years. While we spent most of the time working, we did often have time to "drown worms" The "lingasaurus" was definately my favorite target. Bounce big diamond jigs or 32 oz lead head jigs on the pinnacles and get busy. I've since retired to VA and now shopping for my first SOT. I hope to one day return to AK and dabble with the spiny creatures of the deep.

Ditto that on the welcome! welcome_sign
And absolutely post your questions, but don't forget to post pictures when you pimp your new sled and when you start catching fish.

Pal_1, those are some sick pictures. My wife LOVES kayaking but not so much on the fishing. Those pics might just get her to try out an outting in Alaska with me.

Studies say 60% of the time it works everytime.

I love the photo taken from behind you.

When you tie on your lure, bait, or fly, pause for a moment and ask yourself; Would I eat that?
