Some of you may recall the vigorous debate that occured here between River and myself. It's fair to say it escalated and the barbs flew back and forth, both ways. Not pleasant for either of us I know. No more. I truly feel bad about that exchange, it didn't need to be that way. The truth is that I do read River's many comments and find them intelligent and well founded, and find that I agree with almost all of them. It just so happened we came to disagree on a subject which then got out of hand.
No more. I want to take responsibility for my part and publicly apologize. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing but it needs to be done in a civil and respectful manner, stickin to the facts, and in a spirit of mutual learning. I'm sure we'll disagree again sometime, but I will do so with the respect, kindness and courtesy we all deserve.
River, you're a good guy - I was wrong and I'm sorry.

actually, if i may say so, as a reader, i enjoyed reading your disagreements. both have great points, and i learned a lot. im not experienced enough to know who was right or wrong. i mean i do paddle the most seaworthy, fastest, sleekest, and one of the lightest boats in production, but i wouldnt say im an experienced paddler. experienced fisherman yes. but jimbo, your and rivers posts taught us all a lot about kayaks. i think you two might have learned from eachother as well. keep bringing us new boats to ponder upon. but find one that can kart my big a$$ around as well will ya? ok, im off to the hooch. time to load up this x factor and get it wet.

Mornin'; ....I (for one) agree with "Rick". I am buildin' my own yak, and I learned alot from your debates. As a matter they led to design changes. Thanks.
I've had moments of defending my opinions that I'm not proud of but I have to note that in the process, I learned a lot about myself. Unfortunetly, for me, the realization that I wasn't ALWAYS right or that even when I was I may have handled it badly came late in life and I made an ass out of myself on to many occasions to count. In this case, I think for me the line got crossed in "Capt. Jimbo's response only please" and I'm glad to see it resolved. Jimbo, you've gained some more respect in my eyes. Thanks.

Ive been forced to wait this long to respond due to the fact that everytime I have read this post, I have fallen out of my chair, and then have run to the phone calling the State Police in Fla. to report that someone has kidnapped Jimbo, and have hijacked his KFS identity.
I feared the kidnappers had strapped him into a Cobra Fish and Dive, and are making him paddle some Madison Ave. marketing type around in circles (using an Onno paddle) while forcing him to drink domestic beer from a can.
After the 3rd. call, the Troopers in Fla. threatned to arrest me... so I have given up.
No seriously...
I am sincerely grateful for this gesture, I am not however convinced that I am deserving of the apology, Jimbo certainly absorbed as much abuse as he dished out.
I likewise offer my apology in kind, and likewise accept my share of the responsability.
Jimbo, it would appear that you are, indeed, a decent guy after all.. and I sincerely look forward to more discussion and (with some mutual effort, and maybe quickly corrected mutual relapse) civil exchanges.

Geeez, isn't that what I have been saying for so many years?! Make your point, agree to disagree, respect others for having a different opinion, move on.
Glad you guys are OK now.

I thought the foilyak was going faster because of global warming. Ya see, more melt causes the water to be higher at the poles. Than its just a matter of going down hill.

You guys are making me get all teary eyed but seriously two standup guys with a lot of knowledge offering the hand is a cool jester and you will receive admiration from all for it.
CPP... this hugfest ended months ago... where were you???
Jimbo was the standup guy here, not me really... I had offered a few halfhearted Olive Branchs to him early one... he declined them, but his offer of the Olive Branch simply could not be declined on this end. He turned out to be a class act, and a real gentleman.
I sense he chooses to steer clear of me in the forums now (which is fine) but I'm surely glad he has chosen to stick around, and I wont soon forget his gesture.
