Mornin'; ...now your talkin' RiverRaider. ain't as hard has you think. Gimme' a week or two (ok maybe three). I think I might have a lil' somethin' somethin'......might even bring a tear to the eye of a South Africian or two. Bnz, like we say down here in the south, .."Hush Puppy" "Hush" can we all say 'Cuda...nice try Remember..."The Ark was built by amateurs, the Titanic by professionals" "Hey, Bnz, I see you and "River Raider" have been discussing this for some time. If you think he'd like it, or to input into it, you can go ahead an PM him the 'Cuda PM I sent you. Like I said there is no plans, just bunches of ideas, and a notebook full of drawins'. I think I'd like his input, before I tear into this beast. But, Just us Fisher' Guys ..... I haven't read this post all the way thru. (18 pgs) Guys, "It's just Fishin'"

Build it the right way and they will come if the "price is right"
I just have a hard time paying for a $2500 plastic yak but Lconn has a point about those oyster beds which will eat up a glass yak. So there are some give a takes, glass vs poly or a hybrid or maybe a wood and glass hybrid (X )
Doing a wooden hull and a glass cockpit would be expensive as far as labor.
Wooden boat builders (actually wooden core with fiberglass skins) picked up a trick from the drift boat guys: Mix graphite in with epoxy and apply it in 3 thin layers. The mixture cure pretty hard. Do a light sanding and it become very slick.
Skipped right off of rocks and holds up better against abbrasion than fiberglass alone.
Mornin'; ...but you guys, keep raisin' the "Bar". Please stop all the great ideas...I've redone soooo much crap I'm still reworkin' the ""Tankwell". Today I received console wood(custom book match lumber, from British Columbia, for the Center Console Access Hatch). I original was going to Paint the Yak (less maintenance).... after this much thought & work, ....the Deck will be "Bright", sooo bright I'll have to wear shades
Mr. x; Do you have any updates on this project or did you need a break? I have built a couple of encapsulated boats, in polyester and epoxy. It is a lot of work and definately a work in progress till complete...is it ever complete?
